From Stuck to Action: 6 Steps to Move When It’s Time

Moving countries with one suitcase. Launching a podcast with zero followers. Starting a mentorship sure nobody would join. Every time, I was terrified. Here’s the exact process I use to move anyway.

From Stuck to Action: 6 Steps to Move When It’s Time

I move when it’s time. And guess what? It’s always time.

  • Moving to another country with one suitcase?
  • Launching a podcast with zero followers?
  • Starting a mentorship program with no plan?
  • Walking away from misaligned friends?
  • Leaving the job that didn’t feel like mine?

Did it. Did it. Did it.

And every single time, I was terrified.

When I left Bulgaria, I cried for days and questioned my choice. When I launched Not Just His Plus One, I couldn’t even watch my first episode, I was cringing too hard. When I started my first mentorship I was sure nobody would join. 11 people did.

So no, I’m not fearless. I just learned how to move while scared. Here’s how.

1. Notice the signal

Restlessness. Resentment. That quiet “more” that won’t go away.

Most people treat these feelings like something to fix. Distract yourself, be grateful, stop complaining. But they’re information. They’re telling you that something in your life no longer fits the person you’re becoming.

Write it down. What exactly are you restless about? Be specific. “I want more” is not a signal you can act on. “I want to work remotely within a year” is.

2. Stop waiting for confidence

Confidence is the receipt you get after you do the scary thing. Not before.

Nobody feels ready. Ready is a myth we use to stay comfortable. What you get instead is evidence, and evidence only comes from doing. Every scary thing you survive becomes proof for the next one.

3. Make the decision before the plan

This is the one that changed everything for me. The plan reveals itself once you commit, not the other way around.

When I knew I couldn’t go back to my old life, I didn’t have a ten-step roadmap. I had a decision. The roadmap came later, one step at a time. If you wait for the full plan before you decide, you’ll wait forever.

4. Shrink the first step

Don’t “move countries.” Book the flight.

Don’t “launch the podcast.” Record episode one.

Don’t “start a business.” Write down three skills someone would pay you for.

Big goals freeze us because our brain can’t see the first move. So make the first move so small it’s almost embarrassing. Then do the next one. Momentum beats motivation every single time.

5. Tell someone

Out loud. In public, if you dare. Accountability rewires action.

When I posted about my goals for the podcast, I couldn’t quietly quit anymore. People were watching, cheering, asking. That pressure became fuel. Find one person, or one community, and say it: this is what I’m doing.

6. Expect the fear to stay

The fear doesn’t go away. I want you to hear that, because so many of us wait for it to disappear before we move.

It won’t. You just stop letting it drive. Fear can sit in the passenger seat. It just doesn’t get to choose the destination.

The real secret

You don’t move because you’re ready. You move because staying the same hurts more than starting scared.

That’s the whole thing. That’s the secret.

And when you need a reminder of how to keep going, use the simple success formula I paid a lot of money to learn:

  • Know your outcome. Get specific. “Better” is not a goal.
  • Know your reasons why. Reasons come first, answers come second.
  • Take massive action. Not some action. MASSIVE action.
  • Notice what you’re getting. Most people never check. They just keep going.
  • Change your approach, and repeat until it works.

You only fail if you don’t learn anything.

So if you’re sitting on something right now, a move, a message, a leap, a goodbye, this is your nudge.

Move. 🧡

Which step are you on?
